Top 5 Benefits of Taking Acro Dance Classes

The Acrobatic Arts Syllabus is broken into 5 different categories including; flexibility, strength, balancing, limbering and tumbling. Each class is spent focusing on different skills in each area of the syllabus.

The first part of the Acro season dancers work on developing their skills and tricks! The second part of the season is spent on combining tricks and skills into a flowing beautiful Acro dance, bringing their skills together with dance!

HOW DO I KNOW WHAT LEVEL TO ENROLL IN?
Our mission is to encourage our students to be the best they can be while following specific safety guidelines. There is a step by step syllabus we will follow in order to ensure proper form and readiness for new skills. Proper placement in the program is the key to success.

If you are new to acro, we recommend speaking with Miss Ashley, our in-house acro coordinator. We will review any previous experience your student has had and set you up with a trial dance class. During the trial dance class, we will assess strength and skill level to place you in the best fitting class. Students enrolled in school year dance classes remain in the same dance class level for summer dance classes unless otherwise noted by instructor.

“Cirque du Soleil sees acrobatic training for dancers valuable in the same light as it sees ALL multidisciplinary training for dancers valuable for today’s (and tomorrow’s) artistic workforce. To work in the dance milieu today, mastering several disciplines is almost a necessity; for Cirque du Soleil multidisciplinary is an absolute must for the majority of the dance roles…”
